You can waste a lot of money if you’re targeting the wrong keywords. (Keywords are the search terms for which you’re trying to get a page to show up in Google. For example, if you own dogtraining.com, appropriate keywords for your site might be “dog training” and “how to train a dog.”)
But what YOU think prospects will type into Google is not always what most people enter. And there are often all sorts of related search terms that may never occur to you.
Also, some keywords and key phrases are much more competitive than others. If ten gazillion other people want THEIR sites to show up in Google for “dog training” – it’s going to take a heck of a lot of time and money to beat out all those other sites. It would probably be better to try to rank for multiple, less-competitive keywords.
Expert keyword research will help you avoid those kinds of costly mistakes, and that’s something I can do for you.
